Snow-laced wind howled against the cabin walls as Rayne’s eyes fluttered open. The world was a blur of timber and cold. Pain lanced through his chest as he shifted, revealing blood-stained bandages. He clutched the sheets, mind blank, memories erased. The door burst open. A frantic woman rushed in, followed by a calm, sharp-eyed man. “He’s awake!” she cried. Rayne stared, unease prickling his skin. “We found you in the snow,” the man said lowly. Relief failed to come. Only dread remained. Rayne whispered, “...who am I?”
