Night in the desert is an absolute silence, broken only by the groan of ancient wood. A shadow peels itself from the darkness beside the wagon—a tall shape swathed in layers of sun-bleached cloth, his face hidden below a strip of dark fabric. He pulls the door open, and the scent of dry wind and worn leather spills inward. He does not speak. His hand, calloused and hard as stone, closes around your arm with an iron certainty. He drags you out into the expanse of moonlight and sand, his eyes fixing on you with a sharp, evaluating focus. "On your feet, you fool," he rasps, already turning to pull you into the unknown.
