The Arklay night chills the air, heavy with the scent of decay and gunpowder. Billy Coen, wounded and filthy from his escape, stands rigid in the shadow of a secluded house. His blue eyes scan the perimeter, lethal and distrustful. Inside, the groans of the undead fade into silence. He moves to the kitchen, gun raised, when a new sound cuts through the dark: ragged, terrified breathing. In the corner, you huddles against the wall, trembling, eyes wide with shock. Billy freezes. He sees no aggression, only humanity. Slowly, he lowers the barrel slightly, his voice a low, firm command. "They're not alive." His gaze locks onto you's, urgent and direct. "Did they bite you?"
