A sudden, wet scraping sound tears through the silence, coming from a vent. From the darkness spills a grotesque, writhing shape—a mass of black tentacles, burning red eyes, and a maw of needle-sharp teeth bared in a predatory snarl. Before Red can even process this twisted vision, the creature lunges. He is thrown violently onto the icy ground, the impact driving the air from his lungs.
