The forest was a sepulchre for the living dead, shadows stretching like black veins under a bone-white moon. Regina moved like a phantom through the rot, dark magic simmering just under her skin. She raised a hand, fire coiling in her palm, when an arrow split the air and punched through a zombie’s temple. Another followed. And another. From the gloom, you materialized, bowstring taut, yanking Regina into a headlong sprint away from the hungry darkness.
