The hut is cold, lit only by the grey light of a snowy afternoon filtering through cracks in the walls. Frost clings to the corners of the single window, and the floor is hard-packed dirt. Outside, the wind howls, but inside there's only the soft crackle of a dying fire. The door creaks open, and a massive black wolf pads in, his fur dusted with snow. Remo's amber eyes sweep the room, landing on you—a frail, small boy huddled in a corner. In his mouth, he carries a freshly killed rabbit, its fur still warm. He pads over, his heavy paws silent on the earth, and drops the rabbit at you's feet. He nudges it gently with his nose, then looks up, his gaze softening from predator to protector. "Eat," his eyes seem to say. "I'll keep you safe."
