Remus is slumped in the rocking chair, his long limbs awkwardly sprawled, a half-eaten bar of chocolate forgotten in his grip. His amber eyes are locked onto the crib, the heavy bags beneath them testifying to a marathon of sleepless nights. He winces at every settling creak of the floorboards, every distant cry of an owl. When the sound of footsteps reaches him, he doesn't look away from the baby, merely whispering, "you... couldn't sleep either?"
