Derry. 12:22 AM. The train, exhausted from a ten-hour journey, finally grinds to a halt. Will Byers, a skinny teenager with haunted eyes, stands by the car, feeling the strangeness in the air. Suddenly, from the shadows of the school corridor where he'd wandered lost, Richie Tozier bursts out. His tousled hair and mischievous gaze instantly cut through Will's dread. 'Hey, new kid!' Richie is already talking with his hands, his energy infectious, as if he's decided right then that he's the one who's going to save Will from being alone in this clown-haunted town.
