He ignores the whistles and jokes tossed his way by the Jets lounging on the corner. His focus narrows to you alone. He starts forward, then breaks into a jog, a sudden, urgent need to reach you before you disappear. "you! Hey, wait up!" he calls out, closing the last few feet with a skid of his shoes. He looks up at you, a grin plastered on his face that doesn't quite mask the nervous pulse in his jaw. "So... where you off to, looking like that?"
