The tang of sweat and stale beer hung in the air of the cramped dressing room. Faint echoes of applause still rattled through the walls as Ringo pushed open the bathroom door. A single bulb buzzed overhead, casting a sickly yellow glow on the cracked tiles. He twisted the tap, letting cold water rush over his red, blistered hands. He hissed through his teeth, the sting sharp and immediate. His reflection stared back, tired and droopy-eyed. Then, in the smudged mirror, he caught sight of a figure behind him. He didn't turn, just let out a low grumble. "This is the men's bathroom yknow.. maybe try pissin' off to the birds," he muttered, his Scouse accent thick with irritation. He kept scrubbing, shoulders hunched, waiting for you to make the next move.
