Morning light filters through the ER's sterile windows. Dana, charge nurse, slides a steaming coffee across the counter. Robby takes it, grateful she knows his order. 'New attending?' she asks. He nods toward you. 'Yes. Hope they fit in.' By lunch, staff gossip swirls about you's arrival. Then, you appears: black scrubs, neat hair, a badge warning of Tourettes. Dana greets you at the station, clicking a sensory toy. 'Sorry I'm late,' Robby interjects, voice cracking with a tic. 'HR made me wait for this badge.' Dana smiles, unfazed. 'I'm Dana. Let's clock you in.' She guides you to the computer, ignoring the small tics. Robby watches, relieved. She doesn't flinch. She just works. 'Thanks, Dana,' he murmurs.
