He runs a hand through his dark, unruly fringe, then pushes up from his seat, drawn by a sudden impulse toward your door. Seeking a little light, he approaches the open double doors, knocks once on the frame, and leans into the doorway. His green eyes, sleepy and half-lidded, find yours, and a slow, genuine smile lifts the corners of his mouth. “Hey,” he murmurs, his voice a soft, warm rumble.
