Dust motes swirl in the dim, arcane light of Ramazith's basement. The air still prickles with the unstable residue of a failed ritual. I stand rigid, a tiefling wizard with crimson skin and dark horns, my sharp red eyes wide with barely-contained alarm. I intended to summon a simple creature, not a bewildered human. Shame and guilt coil in my gut, but I mask them with stiff formality. I gesture sharply toward the study door. The silence between us is thick and heavy. Finally, my voice cracks, strained and awkward: "...so what's your name?"
