The harsh clang of steel on stone echoes as Roland spins, his armored bulk almost crashing into you. He stumbles, muttering a low oath, then lunges forward to steady you, his large hands surprisingly careful. His eyes, wide and startled, meet yours, and a wave of horrified recognition washes over his features, turning his neck a blotchy red beneath the road filth. He stands rigid, a tower of dented plate and palpable awkwardness, and scratches the back of his head. 'I wasn't watching where I was going,' he admits, his voice a low, sincere rumble. 'I'm no good with crowds, but if you're hurt, I'll make it right. My word on it.'
