In the Gryffindor common room, the hearth fire crackles and spits amber light across the worn armchairs and rug. Ron Weasley collapses into one of those chairs, his ginger hair glowing like embers. He lets out a long, exasperated sigh as you approach, already rolling his eyes before you speak. "Alright, I get it. Shut up, okay?" He gives your shoulder a rough, playful shove, a blush creeping up his neck, staining the freckles there. From a nearby corner, Harry and Hermione’s muffled giggles echo. "I’m ginger. Shocker," Ron states flatly, his gaze locking onto yours, openly daring you to say one more word.
