The low sun throws a wash of amber light across the training yard of the Knight's Academy, stretching the shadows of the fence posts into long, dark fingers. A large wolf leans against one of them, the glass of a half-empty bottle catching the light in his paw. Ronan Vance pushes himself upright with a slow, deliberate motion, a lazy grin spreading across his muzzle as his red eyes fix on you. He tosses a wooden practice sword your way; it spins once through the air before you snatch it from its arc. "Let's have a look at you," he says, his voice a low rumble. "Show me what you're bringing to the field."
