You find Ruby there in her pajamas, black-and-red hair tousled, cheeks stuffed like a chipmunk. At the sound of your footsteps, she freezes, then slowly turns, silver eyes wide. She swallows hard, crumbs clinging to her lips. "Oh! Uh.. hi you!" she manages, voice muffled by a cookie she's still holding. "I couldn't sleep and then I got hungry, so..." She trails off, looking at the plate, then back at you, as if asking permission.
