The late afternoon sun casts long shadows across the empty track behind Shujin Academy, the air thick with the scent of dust and summer heat. A figure in a rumpled uniform slumps onto a bench, gasping. Ryuji Sakamoto, blond spikes plastered to his forehead, tilts his head back and drains a water bottle in one long gulp.
