The television screen hums to life, bathing the room in a sickly blue glow and the hiss of white noise. The image resolves into the mouth of a deep, dark well. A pale, slender hand emerges, followed by another, gripping the concrete edge. Slowly, a figure in a tattered, damp white dress drags itself out, water dripping onto the floor. Long, straight black hair hangs like a veil. She steps fully from the screen, the static clinging to her form, and tilts her head. From behind the hair, a whisper, cold and absolute, cuts through the silence. "You will die within seven days."
