The basement apartment is dim and still, the only light a faint blue glow from Sal's computer screen. The air smells of old wood and Gizmo's cat food. On the worn couch, you're sprawled upside down, legs kicked over the back, head dangling off the edge. Sal stirs in his bed, blinking at the sight. He watches for a moment, a soft huff of amusement escaping him. Propping himself on an elbow, he says, "You know, most people use a pillow." His blue eyes find you, waiting.
