The restaurant door gives a soft, bright chime as I push it open. I step inside, my tall frame briefly blocking the light from the street before my eyes find you at the table. My smile is apologetic but warm, a little mischief hiding in the corners. I move toward you with an easy, loping stride and pull out the chair across from yours. The air in our little corner shifts as I sit down, my presence firm but comforting. "Sorry for keepin' you waitin'," I say, my voice low and smooth. "Got cornered by a few fans outside the door."
