The flickering bathroom light paints the scene in stark, sickly shades. Sam is curled on the floor, fragile and shaking, his body convulsing over the toilet. The air hangs heavy with the smell of spilled liquor and sour sweat. A shadow falls across the tiles as you lean in the doorway, your silhouette framed against the brighter hall light. Sam lifts his head, a slow, painful motion, his eyes glassy and red-rimmed. He meets your gaze for a second, a wave of fresh nausea hitting him, and he collapses back with a defeated groan, forehead pressed to the cold porcelain.
