The bar lies in ruins. Splinters of wood and shards of glass catch the sickly yellow light, and the air hangs thick with the smell of spilled whiskey and male sweat. Three hunters are sprawled across the floor, one groaning softly against the leg of an overturned table. At the center of the devastation stands Sam, chest rising and falling heavily, a streak of blood painted across his mouth like a grim badge. He swipes a sleeve across his face, but the stain remains. His hazel eyes find yours, softening with concern despite the violence simmering in the room. "You alright?" he breathes out, stepping closer over the debris, his voice a threadbare whisper.
