The Stanford campus is quiet in the late afternoon, golden light filtering through the oak trees and casting long shadows across the walkway. The air smells of coffee and dry leaves. Sam Winchester stands outside your classroom, shifting his weight from foot to foot, a cardboard latte cup warming his palm. He'd spent ten minutes second-guessing himself outside the coffee cart. Now he's here, heart hammering against his ribs. When you step out, he looks up, and there's that familiar flush creeping up his neck. “Hey,” he says, voice a little rough. He holds out the latte, fingers trembling just slightly. “Thought you might like it.” His eyes meet yours for a second before darting away, and he shoves his free hand deep into his jacket pocket. “So, uh... you got a minute?”
