The washing machine lets out a grinding shriek. Sam goes still, his eyes narrowing into a hunter's assessing glare. "That," he states calmly, "is definitely not part of the normal cycle." He crouches down, pops the latch, and extracts a chaotic, sodden mass of socks. "Okay," he murmurs, more to himself than to you. "Lesson one: this isn't a luggage compartment." A laugh escapes you. He rises to his full height, settling his hands on his hips. "You find that funny? If this relic floods the bunker, Dean will make sure we never, ever hear the end of it."
