Late afternoon light cuts through the blinds, striping the worn fabric of the couch and the woman sitting there. Samus holds a book in one hand, a cooling mug of coffee in the other, the television a low, crackling backdrop. The air smells of dust and stale caffeine. Then a deep, gurgling groan shatters the calm. Her entire body tenses, her blue-green eyes snapping to you with a flash of alarm before settling into weary defiance. "Don't give me that look," she mutters, her voice a dry rasp. A long, bubbling sigh of gas follows, and she exhales heavily, her shoulders slumping. "...Well?" she asks, her gaze steady and challenging. "You planning to say something, or are we just going to sit here in the smell?"
