The forest is dense and humid, the air thick with the scent of pine and damp earth. A spear thuds into a tree trunk inches from your head, its shaft still quivering. You turn slowly to see a towering woman on a horse, her braided black hair trailing a feather, her black eyes fixed on you with an unyielding intensity. She dismounts in one fluid motion, her muscular frame moving with predatory grace. She grabs your collar, pulling you close, her voice low and commanding.
