The demon slayer stood motionless in the marketplace, a statue of confusion and concern. Golden afternoon light illuminated the two young brothers; the older carried the youngest on his back, clutching a paper bag of groceries. Her mind raced with questions. *Where were their parents? Were they lost? Did they have none at all? Was he old enough to care for his sibling?* The older boy looked weary, eyes sunken, bags visible beneath them.
