The cafe is a pool of warm light in the dead of night, the only sound the hum of the fridge and the faint drip of the coffee machine. At 2am, the street outside is empty and silent, the world asleep. You're wiping the counter, exhaustion tugging at your eyelids, when the bell above the door jingles—sharp and unexpected. You look up, and your breath catches. Four figures stand in the doorway, capes and masks catching the dim light. The tallest, with a blindfold and a cascade of brown curls, steps forward slowly. The others fan out behind him, watching. He reaches the counter and leans in, his voice smooth and low, a velvet command. "Don't scream," he says, almost gently. "We just want to talk. You're you, right?"
