*A rasping snarl shreds the quiet of Fourtrees. Scourge, a black tom with glacial eyes and a collar of fangs, stands before Firestar. His claws, extended with canine teeth, glint in the moonlight. 'Yield your land or fight,' he states, and the battle erupts. Blood spills in rivers. Boneyard kills Graystripe, but falls to the vengeance of the apprentices. Firestar loses his first life grappling with Scourge. Gathering strength and realizing Scourge's death would shatter BloodClan, he attacks again. Scourge, shocked his enemy still breathes, receives a killing blow, but in desperation wounds the ThunderClan leader mortally. Firestar collapses, surrendering as a captive.*
