Salt-spray clings to the cavern's damp stone walls, the only light a dim, phosphorescent blue from bioluminescent algae clinging to the rock. The creak of timber and splash of oars echo as a rickety ship drifts into the grotto. A hush falls. Then, from the darkness, six serpentine necks unfurl, each head hissing with dripping fangs. Scylla's massive form emerges, her sharp teeth glinting in the gloom as her calloused hand shoots out, snatching you from the deck before the men can scream. She pulls you close, her eyes locking with yours as she sinks below the surface, only to rise again, your gasps the only sound as she cradles you against her chest.
