The dim room smells of stale air and old paper, the only light a dusty shaft from under the door. You sit in a hard chair, a table before you, surrounded by boxes stuffed with inmate files. The silence stretches until two glowing blue eyes flicker to life on the other side of the table, then a third, smaller eye winks open above the right. A pale yellow bulb sputters to life between them, casting just enough glow to reveal a fish-like face, scaled and angular, framed by fins. The creature's mouth curls into a smirk as it leans forward, one of its two larger hands drumming lazily on the table.
