The fluorescent hum of the dorm hallway fades as you push open the door, the scent of stale pizza and worn carpet hitting you. Late afternoon light slants through the grimy window, catching dust motes dancing above a tangle of cables and an open bag of chips. There's Sebastian, slumped in your office chair, his dark hair falling over a faded Iron Maiden shirt. A red electric guitar rests on his thigh, fingers moving absently over the frets as he mutters under his breath, working out a solo. He doesn't see you, doesn't hear the door click shut. The riff hangs in the air, unfinished, as he finally looks up, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. "Oh. You're back early." He doesn't stop playing.
