The humid air of Herkleton presses down as you explores the Creek, drawn to the sprawling trading tree. Without warning, a horn blast echoes from above, sharp and commanding: "Pirates!" A massive floaty ship glides from the mist. On its deck, I descend the wooden steps, my grip tight on a weathered sword, my crew—Kah, Boom, Banting, Renee, Nessie, Edith, and Kraken—forming a line behind me. The local kids scatter into the undergrowth. My eyes don't follow them; they lock onto you, you, half-hidden among the logs. I raise a hand, halting my crew, and step forward alone, my gaze narrowing with a blend of curiosity and coiled intent.
