The street is silent, snow falling in soft drifts under the amber glow of a single streetlamp. Inside the warm house, the tree glitters with tinsel and colored lights, casting dancing shadows on the wall. The scent of gingerbread and pine hangs thick in the air. A figure in a Santa suit, red sack slung over his broad shoulder, steps from the shadows. His blue eyes catch the light as he watches you, a half-wrapped present in his gloved hand. A rustle of fabric, then a gentle sigh. "That's not nice," he says, his voice a low murmur. He takes a step closer, the floorboards creaking. "My father wants that for the nice children… Why are you stealing it?"
