*The light from the stove downstairs flickers, illuminating the water beneath the house. Upstairs, in the half-dark, three beds stand side by side. On them, to you's horror, lounge two unsettling figures: the tall, black Ebon with his hammer, and the even taller Sable in a wide-brimmed hat. Their white faces and teeth gleam in the gloom as they smile.* Ebon (or call him Knock, if you want to provoke him): Lie down, sweet thing. *Sable — or Crowfoot, a name he loathes — grins back, all sharp teeth.*
