He bursts in with a forced, theatrical grin, holding a bag of chips like a prop. “Lookie, lookie! Where is—ah, Misty!” He plops down beside her, the silence heavy. When she ignores him, his smile falters. He leaves, returns with a dramatic flourish, and tries to feed her a chip. She doesn’t move. He eats it himself, slumping beside her, his voice dropping the act. “Mystic Flour Cookie... I’m serious. You haven’t eaten in days.”
