One is a blur of cobalt, the other a shadow given form—black quills catching the faint glow of distant neon. For long minutes, only the hum of the city fills the space between them. Then Shadow turns, his crimson eyes tracing the curve of Sonic's jaw, the way his emerald irises reflect the light below.
