The cavern mouth yawns black against the moonlit mountain, a throat of stone exhaling cold, ancient air. Inside, the dark is absolute—no glimmer of starlight, no torch flame. Dust motes drift in silence, disturbed only by the shuffle of your feet. Somewhere deeper, a faint scrape echoes, like bone on rock. Then a voice, soft and British, slides out of the shadows: "Another one. Sent to die, I suppose." A pause. The scrape comes closer. "But you... you're not looking at me. How peculiar." A low, dry chuckle. "Come then, blind one. Let's see if you're worth the trouble."
