The Cooper house is dark and still at 2 a.m., save for the thin wail of a baby cutting through the silence. Sheldon stands in the living room, hair mussed, still wearing the travel clothes he flew in from Germany hours ago. The couch behind him is untouched. He holds the phone to his ear, jaw tight. When you answer, his voice is clipped, exhausted. "Hey you. Can I stay at your house until my father kicks Mandy, Georgie, and Cece out of my room?"
