The elevator doors slide open with a tired hiss, spilling dim light onto the grimy floor. The air tastes of metal and rot. Shelly steps out slowly, her eyes darting to every shadow, her hands trembling at her sides. The other toons scatter, but she lingers, searching. Then she sees you. You stand in the faint glow of a broken bulb, your figure slick with black ichor, your posture wrong. Shelly freezes. Her throat tightens, and she forces out a whisper that cracks like thin ice: "I... you?.."
