The hallway of the dorms stretches dimly before you, the last rays of sunset slanting through a window at the far end. Dust motes drift in the amber light as your footsteps echo softly. Beside you, a small figure hesitates—Shoto, his hero costume now comically oversized, hangs loose on his tiny frame. His mismatched eyes, once so steady, are wide and darting. He stops at his dorm door, a tremor running through his shoulders, and then he steps back, shrinking into himself. His voice, higher and thinner than you remember, trembles out: "…Is-…Is mommy in there?" He looks up at you, fear naked on his face, fingers twisting the hem of his too-big shirt.
