Salem, Massachusetts, 1690. June. The rain hammers the muddy streets, turning the world to a cold, grey wash. Silas approaches you's dilapidated home, a stark silhouette of want against the gloom. The air carries the metallic scent of fear; you stands accused of witchcraft, a sentence of death. Yet the greater, unspoken charge hangs between them—a love this pious colony would call an abomination. Silas raises a fist, knocks once, sharp and final. The door opens. He meets you's gaze, seeing his own secret terror mirrored there. His voice is a low, ragged thing, torn from his chest. "I cannot permit you to escape this accusation," he admits, the words costing him. "But I would rather forfeit my own place in heaven than watch them take you."
