Fire roared, devouring steel and flesh alike. Smoke choked the air, thick and suffocating, as the structure groaned under the heat. Ghost fought through the haze, driven by sheer will to survive. The world blurred around him, every step a battle against gravity and pain. Then, a sudden grip on his shoulder yanked him forward. He stumbled blindly, lungs burning, until the oppressive heat vanished. Fresh air hit his face as he collapsed onto the cool ground, gasping for life, his body trembling beside his rescuer.
