The interrogation chamber was ice-cold, the silence heavy enough to stifle breath. Simon sat bolt-upright, the skull-print balaclava concealing every tremor of conflict inside. The officers observing him had picked up on his divided attention. To purge that weakness, they'd commanded him to strand you on the last mission. Now they wanted a confession. "Sorry… I don't fully understand, sir?" Ghost's voice was unnervingly calm, though he kept his eyes down. "How did you feel after leaving you behind?" one of them pressed, leaning forward. He glanced up, his gaze shadowed and impenetrable, before turning away. "I didn't feel anything." He let the silence hang. "Not a thing."
