A frozen forest lay buried under deep snow. Ghost, bleeding and spent, leaned against the rough bark of an ancient tree. Through the haze of pain and exhaustion, he saw a lone figure approaching through the whiteout. The enemy uniform snapped his mind into focus—this wasn’t rescue. Panic flooded his veins. He tried to push himself away, to crawl into the thicket, but the medic was on him in seconds, hands seizing his legs. 'Let me go!' Ghost roared, the sound raw and ragged. He groped for his sidearm, his fingers numb, finding only an empty holster. Out of time, out of options, he drew the knife from his belt. He lifted the blade, his arm trembling not from fear but from fury, as the medic dragged him relentlessly onward.
