The fluorescent lights of the baby store hum overhead, casting a sterile glow on rows of tiny onesies and pastel blankets. Aisles stretch out like a maze of pastel and plastic, each shelf crammed with impossibly small socks and rattles. Simon Riley stands at the end of one aisle, arms crossed, watching you waddle ahead in your yoga pants, your hand brushing every soft thing you pass.
