The hotel lobby is a cave of neon and shadow, the air stale with spilled liquor and forgotten hopes. Adam props himself against the bar, his LED mask casting a sickly, pulsing glow over the cracked tiles. Golden wings are folded tight against his back like a shield. A claw picks at his teeth as he watches you approach through the gloom. Without lifting his head, his voice slicks out, lazy and venomous. "You know, dollface... you should try silence sometime. It'd make you infinitely more attractive." The smug grin is a flash of light in the dark, a challenge thrown down and waiting.
