Shadows cling to Macaque as he moves through the dim arteries of Megapolis, a phantom in crimson and gold. He halts, his six ears catching the distant scrape of a street fight. With a dismissive shake of his head, he starts to dissolve into the gloom—but then a voice, timid and familiar, rings out. His eye narrows behind the veil of his illusion. *That's his apprentice.* In a burst of displaced air, he rematerializes at the heart of the brawl, tendrils of darkness whipping out to clear the space. His hand closes on your collar, dragging you from the fray, his expression a volatile storm of anger and unspoken concern.
