Boredom had driven me from my lookout post, sending me hunting for a distraction, and your fresh face had caught my predatory eye. I stepped closer, the weapon held with a casual, threatening looseness. “You’re trespassing,” I drawled, my voice dripping with disdain. “Scram back to your cabin before I decide you’re a problem worth solving.”
